Yes, we have formulated the range to generally be suitable for expectant and breastfeeding mothers. We only use natural fragrances in small amounts and have developed each product with the utmost care in order to minimise irritations. We do not use retinols in our formulas and instead use natural alternatives that are considered safe during pregnancy. For extra caution, it is recommended to do a patch test before use and confirm with your health practitioner that the products are suitable for you.

Allergy to crustacea is caused by the protein called tropomyosin which is specific to shellfish. Kelp is a vegetable seaweed which does not contain that protein and therefore should be safe for people with allergies to crustacean. However, the Kelp is harvested from the sea and could contain traces of shellfish. Whilst the advanced purification process to extract Fucoidans from the Seaweed is extremely unlikely to result in any tropomyosin to be present in the extract, we would recommend patch testing our formulations before use if you are allergic to shellfish.

Although it has not been specifically designed for those with eczema, we expect it will help with improving the comfort and appearance of dry and itchy skin, such as is characteristic of eczema.

This is because our entire range has been formulated to preserve and reinforce skin barrier, which is essential for healthy skin. Many skin conditions, such as eczema, can be related to a poorly functioning skin barrier. The skincare contains high levels of natural oils rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants which all help to protect and repair the skin barrier. Additionally, soothing botanicals and probiotic Lactobacillus Ferment have been selected to further improve the condition of sensitive skin. 

However, if you do suffer from eczema, avoid applying on compromised or broken skin directly and always do a patch test first to ensure full compatibility before using on a larger area.

The whole range is suitable for those with pigmentation, however the hero product we recommend to assist with this skin concern is the Pro-Collagen Vitamin Serum, which is brightening for the skin. We use 2 different forms of stable Vitamin C at a concentration of 9% for optimal efficacy. In-vitro studies have proven the results of these forms of Vitamin C to lighten skin discolouration. We also recommend pairing this with the Luminous Vitamin Oil for further support, which contains the natural retinol alternative Bakuchiol, also known to assist with pigmentation. In one study, after 12 weeks of treatment with bakuchiol, participants experienced significant improvement in pigmentation and an overall reduction in photo-damage.

The first step is always to cleanse the skin to prepare it to receive the following skincare ingredients, which are then applied in product order of light (water-based) to heavier (richer in nourishing oils). 

The serum is the second step, as it is the lightest and should therefore be applied first so the skin can absorb it properly and allow for optimal penetration of the actives. The third step is the oil to nourish the skin barrier. Our oil is a highly absorptive formula designed to sink deep into the skin and not sit on the surface with an oily residue, so applying it before the moisturiser is the best order for this.

When the skin is overly stripped during cleansing, it actually can trigger excess production of sebum (oil) as your skin tries to compensate for having been dried out by a cleanser that is too harsh. When you switch to an effective cream cleanser like this, your skin will have the chance to naturally balance its oil levels for a healthy complexion that is not too oily or dry. People with combination skin may find this especially beneficial.

Yes, it has been formulated to remove impurities as well as makeup. If you wear heavier makeup, you may find it helpful to perform a double cleanse and/or use a makeup remover pad or cloth to help lift the makeup from your skin whilst cleansing.

In-vitro studies have proven the results of these forms of Vitamin C to increase both collagen I and collagen III production, lighten skin discolouration, reduce the size and number of wrinkles, improve acne and protect the skin from environmental damage.

We use a proprietary high-molecular form of Hyaluronic Acid, which has the ability to form a breathable layer on the skin surface to improve hydration and reduce water evaporation. The higher the molecular weight, the lower the water evaporation rate showing a better water holding capacity. An in-vivo study on high-molecular Hyaluronic Acid showed a 37% increase in hydration within an hour and a similar reduction in transepidermal water evaporation.

Yes, this serum is generally suitable for under and around the eye area and can be very beneficial for this purpose. The delicate eye area is often one of the first places to show signs of ageing and effects of lifestyle, such as tiredness or stress. Vitamin C is known to brighten dark circles, as well as provide collagen support. Hyaluronic Acid helps to hydrate, plump and smooth the skin below the eye for a youthful appearance. Pro-Vitamin B5 is also a great ingredient for this area, as it is incredibly protective.

Although the skin around the eye area is generally more sensitive than the skin on other areas of the face, this serum has been dermatologically and clinically tested on sensitive skin with results showing it is both kind and safe to skin. This plant derived extract provides a natural alternative to retinol without the negatives associated side effects, such as irritation, sensitivity and hyperpigmentation. It’s clinically shown to mimic the actions of retinol by acting on the same receptors. One study revealed bakuchiol can function as an anti-ageing compound through retinol-like regulation of gene expression. After 12 weeks of treatment with bakuchiol, participants experienced significant improvement in lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, elasticity, firmness and an overall reduction in photo-damage. Another in vivo study showed that treatment of the tissue model with 0.5% bakuchiol provided very similar effects to treatment with 0.05% retinoic acid.

To achieve this, we have used a prized blend of highly-absorptive oils that are non-comedogenic (do not clog pores), making it suitable for all skin types and allowing it to sink into the skin effortlessly. Allow the oil 60 seconds after application to merge with your skin. Your face will be left beautifully illuminated but never oily.

2. Use your Gua Sha to sweep across areas of the face, working in strokes. Apply gentle pressure.

3. Gradually work around your face, beginning with the jawline and chin, then cheeks, then forehead.

4. Go lightly around the eye area to relieve puffiness.

Tips:

Sweep each area at least 3 times or up to 10 times.

Keep your tool almost flat to your skin (at about 15 degrees) rather than using the very edge.

If your tool starts to drag or pull on your skin, add a little more serum or oil for better glide.

Wash and dry after use.

Yes, we recommend that you perform your Gua Sha ritual using either a serum or face oil to help the beauty tool glide effortlessly over the skin’s surface. This will ensure maximum benefit and also prevent any damage to the skin which may occur on a dry surface.

This is up to you. You may use the Gua Sha in both your morning and evening skincare routine, or in one or the other. Gua Sha is especially useful in the morning when the face may be puffier, especially around the eyes, to support lymphatic drainage.

Again, this depends on the individual and what works best for your routine. We recommend using it daily for optimal results, however aiming to use it at least 3 times a week is still really beneficial.
